What is a Lash Lift & Tint?
A Lash Lift & Tint are two separate treatments performed within the same service to lift and darken your natural lashes. This creates a “wearing mascara” look that can last for weeks.
We only use the best – LASHBOMB™ is an international industry leader in safe lash and brow treatments. A LASHBOMB™ professional solution is applied to each individual lash to create a curled effect, lifting your lashes from the root to create a more awake, freshly fanned out lashes, just like when you use a lash curler.
Once the lashes are curled, a LASHBOMB™ professional lash tint is applied. This is like using a semi-permanent dye on your hair. This makes your lashes look thicker and longer.
What is the difference between Lash Lift & Tint and lash extensions?
Lash Lift & Tint treatments are for patients who want that “curled, mascara look” without the daily hassle. Lash extensions can be natural looking or give a much more dramatic effect but bi-weekly touch-ups need to be done regularly to keep up your look.
You can combine a Lash Lift & Tint with lash extensions for a really dramatic effect. Your lash Lift & Tint can be done 1-2 weeks prior to your extension application for added lift and fullness.
How long does a Lash Lift & Tint last?
A Lash Lift & Tint will last as long as the natural growth cycle of your eyelash, which is about four to six weeks. Your lashes will shed at different times, so how many lashes are very loose and about to fall out may affect your results. Be sure to take good care of your lashes prior to your appointment. Delay booking if you have recently had any trauma (burns, bunches removed at once by accident, strange shedding amount, etc) to your lashes.
What should I expect?
The amount of curl and tint you will see after your treatment will depend on what kind of natural lashes you have. To see results, lashes need to be at least four millimeters long so that your therapist has enough natural lash length to work with. Those with naturally very fine, short and/or light colored or if your lashes are very short regardless of color, might see less dramatic results but results vary.
What to know prior to your appointment?
- In NYS and NYC, an aesthetician and any “beauty industry” provider who does not have a legal Medical Director or is not in the direct employment of a licensed medical doctor is NOT allowed to provide Lash Lift & Tint! At iT Intelligent Treatment, your service is provided as per legal requirements: A licensed MD or Nurse will provide your service
- Do not use an at-home lift kit. These are notorious for causing serious damage to your lashes and in many cases, to your eyes
- An allergic skin reaction to one or both of the products could occur. Unfortunately, there is no way of telling if you will be sensitive to the product until it is applied.
- Lashes could respond with sensitivity. If they shed more rapidly post treatment, they will grow back normally, at their normal rate
- Brittle or unhealthy or short lashes will not be treated
How do I take care of my lashes after my treatment?
- Do not apply eye make-up or receive any other eye treatments for 24-48 hours after your treatment.
- Do not wet your lashes for 48 hrs – you can wash your face and/or hair and body but do not get water on your lashes
- Avoid rubbing your eyes
- Avoid putting contact lenses back in for 24-48 hrs
- Avoid swimming/sauna and any facial/head sweating for 48 hrs
- Use a lash conditioner daily – one will be provided for you in your post-care kit. This is not the same as “wetting” your lashes with water
- Comb the lashes upwards using the clean mascara wands provided when you wake up
- Sleep on your back for up to 2 days after treatment to prevent the lashes being squashed by the pillow
- If any stinging or swelling occurs, keep applying a cold dampened cotton pad, cold compress, or cooling spray to soothe, and call us right away 332.238.6257
