With the GentleMax ProPlus, most patients will see a 75 to 95% reduction in hair growth after completing a full series of recommended laser hair removal sessions. Although results vary, most patients can manage minimal returning hair growth with touch-up laser treatments.

What to Expect During Treatment

Unlike other hair reduction treatments on the market, our GentleMax ProPlus approach is gentle and causes minimal to no discomfort.

The laser uses a trademarked cryo cooling method that safely cools the skin in milliseconds before and after each laser pulse to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. You may feel a light prickling or burning sensation during the treatment, which is mostly quite mild.

Side effects from the treatment using the GentleMax ProPlus are limited. Our team has thoroughly tested and researched FDA-approved devices before offering them to our patients. Some mild side effects that could occur include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, or blistering of the treatment area. These side effects typically subside within a few days. Severe or permanent side effects are extremely rare. Immediately following treatment, the location of treated hair follicles may be red. It is normal to see a series of red dots across the treatment area and they self-resolve usually within 24 hrs.

What to Do After a Laser Hair Reduction Treatment

It is normal to experience some mild redness or swelling immediately after your treatment. Some patients describe this feeling as similar to a mild sunburn, which will improve within a few days.

After your treatment, avoid picking, scratching, or rubbing the treated area as well as using any type of exfoliating product for at least four days post-treatment. We also recommend that you avoid any type of intense cardiovascular exercise, swimming, or exposure to heat such as in a sauna or jacuzzi for one day after your treatment to help avoid any additional irritation to the treated area. How many laser hair reduction sessions will I need?

Laser hair reduction treatments are done in a series of sessions spaced out over some time. Most patients will need to return for treatment sessions every 4 to 6 weeks for the duration of the treatment. The number of sessions required will vary depending on the size of the area you seek to remove hair. How many sessions are required will also vary based on other factors, such as your skin tone and hair color.

Usually, patients will need between six and ten treatments to see the best results. Maintenance treatment volume varies on a patient by patient basis. During your visit with an IT Intelligent Treatment master provider, we will work with you to create a curated treatment plan and frequency to help you achieve the smooth, hair-free skin you desire.

How do I prepare for my laser hair reduction treatment at IT Intelligent Treatment?

Taking measures to prepare your skin before your laser hair reduction session is important to help ensure optimal results. For a minimum of four weeks before your treatment, do not wax, tweeze, thread, or perform any other type of hair removal besides shaving in the area that will be treated.

The evening before your treatment you must shave the area. We do NOT provide shaving services. If you do not shave the area, the laser cannot properly treat the follicle bulb. There is also a risk of receiving surface burns. You can shave the morning of, but be aware that this may irritate your skin in combination with your hair reduction treatment. Patients must arrive with the area shaved to ensure the effectiveness of the laser treatment. If you cannot reach a particular area, such as you back, Barbers usually provide shaving services.
